YOU ARE A CHOSEN ONE & LOVED!

I remember when I was younger there was this boy I liked and thought he was going to be my happily ever after. Every time I saw him or walked by him in the hall at school my eyes would pop out of my head practically.  A few weeks later, it was the Valentine’s Day dance. I always loved dances as it was the time where a guy would ask you to dance and fun with friends. At this dance, the guy I had found myself fond of started asking all my friends to dance instead of me. It made me sad inside and felt a sense of disappointment and also rejection. Thoughts began to swirl in my head. Those of feeling unworthy, not good enough, pretty or skinny enough. 

Have you ever struggled with those same thoughts or have a situation of rejection happen? The truth is those thoughts were untrue and just lies from the enemy.  I know that sometimes, we experiences times of rejection. If and when it occurs we should not buy into the those thoughts and lies. Just because we experience a no, It doesn’t mean that we are not good enough, unloved or unworthy. It just means that God has something better up His sleeve. So, trust and wait!

So what do we do when we experience rejection?

Maybe it’s the guy we like, the job we didn’t get or that great opportunity we were hoping for.

Allow yourself the time to process the situation, the heartache or disappointment. Give those emotions over to God. Maybe journal, pray and talk to someone whom you trust.

When rejection or disappointment happens we must put on the armor of God and speak truths to ourselves. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  Ephesians 6:10

Read scripture and remind yourself what God says about you.

The truth is you are enough, loved and chosen.  No one can separate you from the love of Jesus!

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—  to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.  Ephesians 1:5-6

Trust God with the desires of your heart, needs and wants!

Allow God to lead you on the right path.

Journal Questions:

1. Have you struggled with unhealthy self-talk or beliefs that you are still holding onto?

2. Is there a situation or person that has made you feel that way? If so, I encourage you to take it to God.  Pray and ask God to heal your broken heart, mind and spirit. 

3.  Take some time to meditate on truths and what God says about you.  4. What are your favorite Bible verses that you love? Pick a few and read those days.

Here are a few of mine to help you get started.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the LORD's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ Ephesians 3:16-18

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Truth: Your are God's precious child, chosen, and dearly loved.
