Words of Joy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you all a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Week!

What are your most treasured memories of Thanksgiving? Is it time with family, friends or watching the Macy’s Day parade?  What about the yummy pumpkin pie, stuffing, and mashed potatoes?  As one of my favorite holidays, I am always excited for this special day and season.  It’s a wonderful time to reflect on all the many blessings. I am thankful for my faith, family, friends and health.

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise Psalms 95:2

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Matthew 6:25

Some Fun Thanksgiving facts and activity ideas for the dinner table!

The first Thanksgiving was in October of the year 1621.  It was originally a harvest festival and celebrated by the pilgrims.   Before turkeys, the meal of choice was the deer and duck chosen by the pilgrims and Indians.  Through time, it has been changed to Thanksgiving! A time of meals with those whom we love and care about.

I love that practicing gratitude as it decreases stress, anxiety and improves our mental and physical health.

Here is a fun activity to do with your family and/or friends. Take a few moments and go around the table and share what you are thankful for. You can also share this free Thanksgiving printable and put it on the table setting with a pen or pencil.

Here is the free printable to pass around the table!

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

If you are unable to meet with those you love and care about this year what about sending a note or a card? Many enjoy receiving a letter in the mail.

Wishing you a very blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Blessings,
